This article is a suggested Cambodia Itinerary with a list of places of interests, applicable to one, two or three weeks.
Three weeks in the Kingdom Of Cambodia! Home to Angkor Wat and the Khmer people. Cambodia is a beautiful country and the people are really nice, always offering a genuine smile. A treat in our journey through South East Asia.
Below is our itinerary to help you plan the cities you may want to visit. We made six stops from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. We traveled by bus to each destination, which was really easy in Cambodia.
#1 Siem Reap : popular tourist destination. A must visit in Cambodia and only 7km away from magnificent Angkor Wat – a must do while in Cambodia.
#2 Battambang : second largest city of the country. Peaceful and quiet town, famed for the Bamboo train and French Colonial architecture still very present.
#3 Sihanoukville : beach stop of the trip for some rest and relaxation. Very crowded and touristy but has its own charm. Go from serendipity beach to Otres Beach and enjoy barbecues on the beach.
#4 Kampot : known for its pepper, great two-day stop for some crab and to discover another lovely area of the country. Hop on over to Kep for its famous crab! An memorable experience!
#5 Kampong Cham : third largest city of the country, located along the Mekong River. With appearances of a sleepy town, we enjoyed the serenity and slow-pace of the environment.
#6 Phnom Penh : capital of the country, well-developed with sky-rises in sight. We visited the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21) and the Choeung Ek Killing Fields.
In a week, you can visit Siem Reap and Angkor Wat in two days, then head over to Sihanoukville for 2 days at the beach, one dat in Kampot and end the trip in Phnom Penh.
In two weeks, you can spend three days in Siem Reap and Angkot Wat, one day in Battambang, three days in Sihanoukville, three days in Kampot, and the rest of the time in Phnom Penh.
In three weeks you really have time to enjoy each part of the country, four days in Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, three days in Battambang, four days in Sihanoukville, three days in Kampot, three days in Kampong Cham and the rest of the time in Phnom Peng.
